Holy shit. Jaywalkers are the number one reason why I hate driving in big cities.
I hope the guy makes it out alright. That's absolutely horrific.

Man that sounds horrible.
Article summary: driver swerved to avoid a pedestrian in the crosswalk and pinned the victim to the truck, one leg removed, the other barely attached. Father of 2, stable condition.

Horrific, that's the exact same thing that came out of my mouth. That disturbed me just reading it.

What's worse is it was a teen driver who was basically asked to make a decision you never want to do. You're told to never swerve for animals but you are kinda supposed to for people. In this case it was one of those "You have two choices and both result in someone getting hurt. Have fun."

College campuses are bad too. There's a few intersections on the campus I went to school where large groups of pedestrians will start crossing regardless of traffic.
One day a few years ago someone ran in between some cars that had about a car length and a half distance which sparked a mass of them to start going despite my travel lane having the green light. I laid into my horn and pushed forward (very slowly) which got people stopped and traffic resumed. The next light about 100 feet up turned red. I stopped of course and some guy leaned into my open passenger window and started cussing me out and threatening me. Not a fan of pedestrians.

University students are awful (spoken as one). The bus I take home drives by a local college, and kids will just start jaywalking right in front of it, even with a green light. Fucking morons.
